This is an international standard for social responsibility relating to the requirements of national and other applicable regulations in the field of labor. The SA 8000 concerns issues such as forced and child labor, health and safety at work, the possibility of free bargaining, discrimination, discipline, working hours, compensation and management systems. In addition, it contains rules on working conditions in the workplace, the standard covers existing international agreements, including conventions of the International Labour Organisation (ILO), Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
